I wanna but my internet sucks. Fortunately my mate’s internet is great so I gonna take my hard drive over and nick his bandwidth tomorrow. Unless Halo becomes unplayable due to a bad ping.

I played several rounds of Walker Assault last night. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. The mode is very slanted toward the Empire side of things and I’m not wild about the way ships (TIE, X-wing, A-wing, etc.) handle, but I felt like the gunplay blasterplay was pretty balanced.

And I liked that most things are power-up pick-ups rather than grinding unlocks. It let’s you enjoy the game on a mostly even footing rather than getting dominated by people who can put hundreds of hours into it.

I’m still divided on whether I’ll get it at release or not. Fallout 4 comes out at the same time so we’ll see.

As Jake said, it feels super unbalanced. Not super fun, in my opinion, but I’ll probably keep playing it.

From what I’ve played it has been mostly 50/50 on who wins. The ships are hard to control for sure. I need to learn how to use the snowspeeder to take down AT-ATs. If the team is coordinated and can keep the relays up you can usually take out one walker by halfway

I played it and I actually think it’s quite terrible compared to like Battlefield 4 for example and it’s also very arcadey. Recharging grenades, really? I hope there is no equivalent to like Metro on this. I played Battlefront 2 quite a bit and that game was more like Battlefield and was actually quite a better game. The way I see this game they made it very basic and simple for “Star Wars fans” rather than for people who play games like this.

Recently played Rainbow Six Siege as well that cam was actually really excellent and is the shooter to look forward to at release.

I agree. Game isn’t very good at all. Huge disappointment.

I mean it is star wars, how realistic do you expect the weapons to be? Unless they bring 1313 back, I’m not expecting a gritty star wars game any time soon

It’s on the short list of games to try, but I’ll be on vacation for the next week, and won’t be able to play. Does anyone know how long the beta period is going to last?

I love the pickups. It prevents vehicle camping.

It is still the beta after all.

Yeah that's my thinking. But I do feel like it's easier for Empire players to get TIE fighters and such behind the front lines while the Rebel vehicle pick-ups are all closer to the battle. It made getting an X-wing kind of a challenge if the Empire players had pushed too far up.

Well Battlefront 2 is a good compairson. Had classes with multiple play styles and several kinds of weapons.

I don’t care about realism really. I thought Battlefield 2142 was better than Battlefield 2 because the sci-fi universe allows you to prefer game balace over realism. I was expecting more of a “battlefield” type game than what we got.

Like instead of recharging grenades in battlefield you have a class that can refills your supply. That aspect from the game, healing, supply, etc, is totally missing here. You are just infantry with occasional power ups like it’s Quake 1 that’s it.

You also have the fact that there is not “tickets” so you can just suicide squad attack at all times without consequence. There is not risk to the team effort in dying pointlessly.

I see what you mean. I think once the game comes out there will be more variation in the weapons that will allow for different strategies.

As for suicide attacks, they don’t seem very effective compared to attacking normally

Maybe, but I personally hadn't had a hard time clearing the skies when I do get an xwing or awing. They should lower the health a bit on the atats though. Haven't won as a rebel once. That said the other mp mode available was really balanced. Survival is a cake walk, but that was medium and just the first few rounds.

My problem was that as soon as I would get an X-Wing or an A-Wing, there were three TIE fighters moving my direction. I guess it’s a form of spawn protection not letting you have control of the ship for a few seconds, but as soon as I did gain control it was already beeping at me that a missile was locked on.

Keep turning. Keep changing you power distribution. Use your shield ability. It's like an arcadey adaptation of the xwing trilogy of flight sims.

With time I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it. I was pretty good in BF3 jets and not bad in BF4 jets and was expecting it to be similar. The shield and power distribution dynamics are a big change from the BF style. Plus I keep wanting to bank the way real aircraft do but they obviously don’t turn that way.

Exactly. And I get that. Which is why I expected them to handle like those old games (rogue squadron series too), previous expierience is a factor.

Ah that’s true. Hadn’t really thought about Rogue Squadron. They feel quite similar now that I think about it.
